There is very little colouring to this card which really cuts down the time of making it!! The tree was stamped in Starlite Black Brilliance and coloured with a silver Sakura Stardust pen. Crystal glitter glue was scribbled underneath the tree to resemble glistening snow.
The pale bluey/grey panel was stamped and embossed using a snowflake stamp, Versamark and clear embossing powder and the lilac panel was stamped with Versamark using the Round Leafy Tree and left to air dry. The swirl and wording were stamped afterwards using Graphite Black Brilliance. A piece of acetate, that I had cut to the same size as the card, was randomly stamped using Lilac StazOn and the dotty swirl and attached to the main card using pieces of double sided tape positioned behind the tree panel.
Stamps used:
Denami Design
F181 Classic Season's Greetings
F182 Round Leafy Tree
E112 Small Starburst
M65 Large Dot Swirl

Hi Kay,
Love this colour combo and the relative simplicity of the card. have plenty of tree images I could use for something similar. A card like this would be ideal for one of my friends who is very much into lilac.
I left a comment while at work Friday on your 'Christmas Chicks' post, but it hasn't appeared...most strange.

Hi Pauline,
Very strange indeed as I never received a comment from you on Friday. I have just checked the Comments Moderation and there is definitely nothing there!

Hi Kay,
How bizarre. I'm sure it wasn't a figment of my imagination :-), probably connected with the wonderful (not!) IT system we have at work.
The reason I queried the whereabouts of my comment was because I asked a Q. On the gift tag you gave me at The Craft Barn extravaganza, it looks like you've used holographic or kaleidoscope ep and it's quite raised. What make do you use? I did something similar the other night and thought the result was definitely holographic it stayed quite flat. I was using watercolour paper and thought that may be why. But I tested the holographic ep I have on smooth cardstock this morning and the result was the same.
Oh and I also asked if you had made any plans for your 40th yet...?

Hi Pauline,
I don't use anything special regarding the embossing powder - just the normal Stamp and Stuff Crystal powder. I tend to think that it is more likely to do with your inkpad! When embossing I always try to keep my inkpads quite wet because the wetter your impression the more embossing powder will stick to it therefore providing a more raised image. So try re-inking your inkpad and see if this helps!
Regarding my 40th - no I still haven't sorted out anything for it and don't think I will now. I'll just let it pass quietly!
