Time

Oh my goodness!! I cannot believe that we are about half way through this year already. This means that just under 3 months I am going to be celebrating my 40th birthday!! I am sure that I cannot be that old already!!!

Also it means that we have been in our new house now for just over a year!! Where does the time go?? Once upon a time I had a purpose built studio in our back garden of our old house and everything had it's place. Now I am working out of boxes the whole time as we have yet to convert one of the bedrooms into a designated craft room for me. The way things are going it looks like I will be working like this for some time to come!!

The photos are what my studio used to look like in our old place!! I won't depress you and show you a photo of what I am working in now!! As you can see I had loads of drawers, cupboards and shelving in which to house all my goodies. Nowadays I have most of my stuff in clear plastic boxes that are piled on top of one another and quite a few things in cardboard boxes that I don't use quite so much, so most of the time I spend a lot of time hunting around for stuff! Oh for the good old days...................

Wow Your old craft room looked soo nice and organized I can imagine the challenge you have now creating anything if all that is in boxes :( that's alot of stuff

Trust me Kay as one of the recent joiners to the club, 40 is the new 30..... LOL

Loved the old craft room, but as someone who is still waiting for the promised extension so I can have one I can totally empathise. Six years after moving in I am still working out of boxes. Albeit they are pink Ikea and not as useful as clear ones!

I couldn't have left this behind Kay. It looks wonderful. I would love a craft room, but we don't have the space so a corner of the living room is my "craft room". I know what you mean about boxes piled up.
The big 40 looms for you too does it. I still have 6mths to go but think I'll start going backwards now!
Happy crafting

Hi Guys. It certainly wasn't easy leaving that studio behind - as you can see I have so much stuff that a corner in the living room won't quite suffice!! I'm estimating that it will be about 3-4 years before I get my new craft room!

At a later date I will post up a few photos of all my stuff that is piled into our front room - it is no exaggeration when I say I have more than most craft shops.

As for being 40 very soon - personally I think I might stay at 39 - at least that number is preceded by the number 30!!

Hi Kay,

I've been so busy this week since my weekend in East Grinstead for the Craft Barn Extravaganza that this evening was the first opportunity to browse blogs.

I echo the other comments. Your old craft space was lovely. Love the colour scheme.

I've only been crafting for a few years...well actually I've been crafting since childhood...but it's only over the past few years that I've really got into stamping. Big time! I have over 20 Really Useful 4L boxes, a couple of 9 L ones, craft totes, rolling carts, decorative tins. All carefully stacked. I've given up trying to clear the dining table - except for Christmas! :-)

I long for a craft room. It would have broke my heart to leave one as gorgeous as the one you had. Hopefully it won't be as long as you estimate until you have a new one.

Hugs, Pauline x

Wow.. I love your studio. I have worked from boxes and plastic drawers, and now had a studio of my own, so I know you must miss it terribly! I still have two sets of drawers in the house, and work from those on a bad weather day.. in fact most days... as my studio is now filled with hubby's tools and lawnmower!! I will turf him out this next couple of weeks and take my stuff back out as it clutter the place up somewhat.. lol.

Lovely cards.. as always xx
