The Stamp Man's Second Challenge
Hi everyone. Today is the start of The Stamp Man's 2nd Challenge which is Take Two Colours. As you can see from my card I opted for some nice bright colours of purple and green which I thought would make a nice fresh looking card.
For the background I used the Cuttlebug Stylized Flowers embossing folder and some plain vellum. After I'd embossed it I coloured the reverse side of the vellum with some markers in order to pick out the detail of the embossing.
For the main panel I used one of my stamps from the Funky Flowers stamp sheet and coloured this using Coloursoft pencils and Sansador in order to give it a soft muted feel. I then took one of the flourishes from my Fancy Flourishes stamp sheet and stamped and embossed around the flowers using Versamark and Crystal embossing powder.
The birthday wording is from my Funky Frames stamp sheet.
I really hope you like the card and fancy having a go at submitting a card of your own into our challenge. Click here to go and visit the Challenge blog and find out what you need to do to enter.
Enjoy your weekend!

Hi Kay, Lovely card again beautiful colours, must say it looks blue - which is my fav. colour those pencils have a lovely tone to them - something I will have to think about next ha ha. love to all Jo. xxx
Hi Kay, love the card with the various techniques that you've used.
I've had computer woes which is why I've not left many comments over the past couple of weeks. The desktop is finally on it's way to pc heaven (or hell in it's case lol). Last Monday I took delivery of a Toshiba C650 laptop which was a QVC TSV the other Saturday. But it was only yesterday that I had the time to set it up and get connected via the new wireless router.
Although I'd backed up a few days prior to the pc crash a former colleague who is in IT support has kindly got all the data from the old hard drive. So my next task is to install various apps and then transfer the old data to the laptop.
However, earlier today I sat and watched your DVD on 'Shrink Plastic'. It was soooo good to be able to view without the screen freezing. But wow! I'm so inspired now to dig out the various shrink plastic I have and be creative.
Hugs, Pauline x
Hi Kay,
thanks for the visit on my blog. I loved your work.
Hi Pauline - so lovely to hear from you!! I can most definitely sympathise with you regarding your 'computer woes' - as you know my desktop pc gave up on me last year and unfortunately my hard drive couldn't be accessed so I lost a weeks worth of work. Could have been worse though!! I certainly don't envy you the task of getting your new one loaded up with everything - have fun with that!!
So glad you liked the shrink plastic DVD!
Kay xx
