Light Up The Night

Hi everyone.  I bet you can't believe that I am actually doing two posts in two days!!  Well the reason for this is because I have been asked to Guest Design this month over on the Allsorts Challenge Blog!  So without further ado here is the card I made for the Light Up The Night challenge theme using the very sweet Popcorn Bear stamp set.

This particular set is called Beary Merry Christmas (from The Glitter Pot). The wording and the pine branches that I've stamped around the background paper using sepia ink are both Penny Black stamps - again from The Glitter Pot. The background paper is by Bo Bunny from their Winter Joy range and the snowflakes are Martha Stewart punches - Glacial Snowflake and Himalayan Snowflake.  I think I got the ribbon from Fantastic Ribbons at one of the stamp shows.

This is actually quite a large square card as it is roughly 8x8 inches in size so here is a slightly closer look at the main panel and the surrounding area.  The white dots on the wording and main panel were done with white Liquid Pearls and I used self-adhesive rhinestones for the centres of the snowflakes. (The Hobby House) I edged the punched out snowflakes with Tiara glitter glue so that they really catch the light and sparkle.

For the main panel, I began by stamping the bears with Tuxedo black ink and coloured them using Copic markers - I did this a little while ago now so I'm afraid I can't remember the colours for them but I think for their fur I used E35, E33, E31 and E50. For the blue hat and scarf I used B97, B95 and B93 and I think for the pink scarf it was RV34 and RV10.  For the sky area I used B63 and B60. Once I'd done all my Copic colouring I stamped the music notes using Starlite Black Brilliance and stamped the snowflakes using a light blue chalk inkpad then finished off some areas with the Clear Spica Copic pen and lots of Stardust glitter glue.

So if you fancy joining in with the Allsorts Light Up The Night challenge click here to visit their blog and see what gorgeous creations the rest of the DT have made to inspire you and find out what you can win if you enter.

Enjoy your weekend and stay warm!!  Unfortunately my class today at The Glitter Pot had to be cancelled due to the amount of snow, so I'm sure I won't be straying very far from our log burner today!

Afternoon Kay, sorry to hear that you had your class cancelled. Hope you are lovely and warm. We cannot get any smokeless coal in London at the moment or logs so its the costly central heating on all day/night. Lovely card again Kay, love the colouring of your Bears, we haven't done a class with bear with you yet- mainly girls, and a couple of elephants ages ago. Congratulations on GDT spot at Allsorts. Lots of love Jo.xxx

Hi Kay, congrats on your GDT slot. Love the card. I have so far resisted buying many of the Popcorn Bear stamps... but have dozens of Penny Black stamps.

I finally have a kind of proper crafting area. In the dining room, which Nick said I could convert to a craft room, as long as it could still be used as a dining room when the need arose. I'm still in the process of organising, organising, but it's so good not to have to move boxes and tins all the time when I want a particular stamp. And now that the majority of my crafty stash is in the dining room...well...what a lot I have lol!

Stay warm this weekend, hugs, Pauline x

This is a lovely card Kay.

I wasnted to say thank you for the brilliant project you did in Craft Stamper last month, using Copics as watercolours. I have used it for a card I posted this morning, and was really pleased with the effects. Defintely will be doing this again.

How lovely to get all your crafting stash organized! I can't wait for that day to arrive but we have a loft conversion to tackle first before that ever happens!
