New Lin Brown stamps!!

Hi everyone. A little while ago I was thrilled to be asked by the very talented Lin Brown to do a couple of sample cards for her latest stamp release!!  As you can no doubt imagine I jumped at the chance to play with some of her new range!

So without further ado below are the samples that I made for the release using Lin's new Poppy/Tulip stamp set ELB23 along with a few words as to how to create each one :).

Using stamps from the ELB23 stamp plate, stamp and emboss the tulip head and stem twice and the wording onto a 12x17cm watercolour panel using VersaMark and White Detail embossing powder. Colour with Copics and create a background using Mustard Seed Distress Inkpad. Stamp leaves along the base of the panel using Peeled Paint Distress inkpad and sponge in background imagery using TCW Mini Wildflowers stencil and Mustard Seed. Randomly stamp and emboss the small decorative element from the stamp sheet using VersaMark and Stampendous Shabby White embossing enamel. Using a Mustard Seed Distress Marker trace over the wording and draw in some small butterflies – trace over with a fine black mulitliner. Sprinkle Shabby White embossing enamel and heat from underneath. Cut into two sections and layer to a larger watercolour panel then to a folded card blank.

Using stamps from the ELB23 stamp plate, stamp and emboss the poppy head and stem twice onto a 12.5cm² watercolour panel using VersaMark and White Detail embossing powder. Colour with Copics then create a background using Peacock Feathers and Peeled Paint Distress Inkpads. Stamp some leaves and the poppy wording using Peacock Feathers. Sponge in some background imagery using TCW Mini Butterfly Meadow stencil and Peeled Paint. Sprinkle Stampendous Shabby White embossing enamel along the top and base of the panel and heat from underneath. Highlight the poppy wording with a white gel pen. Layer to a larger watercolour panel and then to a folded card blank.

Colour with Copics and create a background using Peacock Feathers and Peeled Paint Distress Inkpads. Stamp leaves along the base of the panel using Peacock Feathers then sponge in some background tulips and foliage using TCW Mini Wildflowers stencil and Peeled Paint. Sprinkle on some Stampendous Shabby White embossing enamel and heat from underneath. Layer to a larger watercolour panel and then to a folded card blank.

Using stamps from the ELB23 stamp plate, stamp and emboss the poppy head and stem three times onto a 12.5x17.5cm watercolour panel using VersaMark and White Detail embossing powder. Colour the poppies using Copics then create a background using a Peeled Paint Distress Inkpad. Stamp background leaves using Peeled Paint and stamp and emboss a few flower heads (from ELB24) using VersaMark and Stampendous Shabby Green embossing enamel. Sprinkle some of the embossing enamel around the edges and heat from underneath. Draw a few little butterflies with a fine black marker and colour with a white gel pen. Newbury Papercraft Show

Hi everyone.  I am sooooooooooo excited as I've been invited to demo this Saturday (4th July 2015) at the new Newbury Papercraft Show for Stamps & Memories and what's more I will be demoing with my new favourite product of the moment................BRUSHO!!! (I am truly thrilled and honoured to be asked and am super excited as it's been ages since I've demoed at any of the shows.)

Here's a little taster of what I'll be up to-
The picture above shows what can be achieved when using Brusho for the background combined with Copic colouring for the pretty flower imagery and the picture below shows how you can make very simple wintery looking cards
Then this one shows just how pretty Brusho can be.
So I really hope if anyone is going to the show that you'll stop by my desk and say Hi!!  Don't forget - it's this Saturday 4th July at Newbury Racecourse :).

Boutique Chic Show

Hi everyone. If anyone missed the original launch of Hunkydory's Boutique Chic collection Jak is on Create and Craft today at 3pm with this collection.

Below is one of the cards that I created with this collection for the original launch. This was a large card at 8x8".
I wanted it to look like a glass bathroom shelf with the perfume bottles on it!
It took me a little while to work out how to hide all the assembly of it but I got there in the end!
As you can see I prettied up the inside too with the gorgeous matching inserts.

Hunkydory's Boutique Chic Collection

Just stopping by to let you all know that this fabulous collection is now available on Hunkydory's website.

I was lucky enough to make some sample cards for the launch of this collection on Create and Craft and it was a joy to work with - it contains such pretty imagery which to me has a parisian feel to it. I loved working with this kit.

Above is one of the cards that I created using this collection and below is the left hand view of the card.
Here's a closer view taken from the right-hand side.
And this shows looking down on the card. Of course it had to have the matching insert but you can't really see this. The cardstock used to make the base card came from the Adorable Scorable Boutique Chic Collection - just love this cardstock - it scores SO beautifully and is such a fabulous sturdy cardstock.
I'm now working on Hunkydory's next collection - I LOVE IT!!!

A Hunkydory Father's Day

Helloooooo.  I thought I'd share something different with you today as earlier this year I became part of Hunkydory's Design Team. I know that most of you know me for working with stamps, inks and alcohol markers but it's been a little secret of mine for a while now that I just LOVE all things Hunkydory!!!  Their products are such top quality that they are an absolute pleasure to work with - I just wish that I was able to work with them more often but I'm normally too busy doing inky things!!

Anyway I thought today I'd give you a sneak preview of Dad's Father's Day card this year that was made using one of my favourite images from the Shimmering Pearl Collection.
This particular collection is just full of gorgeous pearlised imagery as it has been printed and foiled onto Centura cardstock - it is simply stunning!!

This card is quite large - just a little under A4. As you can see from the photo below I added some heavyweight acetate to the front to give some depth and interest to the card. So consequently i  have made a box for it to go into.

Of course it just had to have the matching pearlescent insert sheet to finish it off inside.

Fingers crossed that Dad likes it!!

Last minute cards!!

Helloooo!!!  Last Saturday I stepped in at the last minute to cover a Copic Colouring class at The Glitter Pot. Unfortunately I didn't get the chance to make my coloured images into cards as there just wasn't enough time but since then I've popped them onto some cards - although most of them are VERY simple I thought I'd share them with you anyway!

First up is the more involved card. For this one I used an embossing folder and some dies to decorate the plain pearlescent Bazzill card. The stamp is a new one by Penny Black called Make a Wish! which was coloured using Copic markers. I distressed around the image with Tumbled Glass. The embossing folder is a Crafts Too one (Sweet Flowers)and the dies are by Memory Box - Puffy Clouds and Grand Oak Tree.

Here's a bit of a closer look at the colouring for you.
Next up is a very simple card of the same image just stuck onto Crafter's Companion watercolour card and edged with a black marker.
Here's the same image again just distressed with Tumbled Glass distress ink with Stampendous Shabby White embossing enamel added for interest and texture.

Next up is another new Penny Black image called Carrot Collector again coloured with Copics and mounted onto Crafter's Companion watercolour card.
And lastly here is that same image this time distressed with Bundled Sage distress ink with Stampendous Shabby White embossing enamel added.
I have another Copic based class coming up at The Glitter Pot on Saturday 11th April - this time using Copics with Coloursoft pencils which enables you to create softer images with more detail!
