Without further ado below is my contribution of using one of my own PaperArty's stamp sheets with some of the fabulous Stencil Girl's stencils :).

One of the things that I really got into a few years ago after being a bit dubious of them was stencils and since then I tend to use them with most of my creations. I love how they can add texture and interest in an entirely different way to when we use stamps for this same purpose.

For this card I chose to incorporate four different stencils by Stencil Girl Products to create all my background interest and kept the stamps purely to add all my foreground imagery. (Often I will use stamps to add further background interest but due to all the layering with the stencils I felt it wasn't required here.)

I chose to combine my EKC03 stamp set along with the fabulous stencils by Stencil Girl Products.

So.....................here's how I went about creating the card!

 Step One: Paint a 10.5x21cm white panel with Fresco Finish Dusty Teal paint. Ensure the panel is dry then mask off sections of the top and base with sticky notes. (I masked off approx 2cm at the top and 3.5cm at the base.

 Step Two: Take the large L169 Crackle stencil, place over the panel and sponge through Snowflake Fresco Finish paint. Heat set.

 Step Three: Place the top edge of the S142 Bubbles stencil with the edge of the top sticky note and tape into position with low tack tape. Add another sticky note at the base of the stencil then sponge through Hint of Mint Fresco Finish paint. Heat set.

 Step Four: Remove the stencil and extra sticky note and low tack tape and sponge a very light layer of Hint of Mint over the panel between the two original sticky notes.

 Step Five: Stencil in some foliage using S078 Swatton Flowers along with Dusty Teal Fresco Finish. (As you can see I used some low tack tape to mask off certain areas of the stencil.)

 Step Six: Here's what it now looks like. After evaluating it I decided that there wasn't enough contrast in colour between my first two stencils - the crackle one and the bubbles one.)

 Step Seven: So...........I popped the bubbles stencil back over my previous stencilled circles and once again held it in place with some low tack tape and added an extra sticky note to the base before sponging through Beach Hut Fresco Finish - directly on top of the circles I had previously stencilled with Hint of Mint.

 Step Eight: After heat setting I then began stamping my composition with Jet Black Archival onto the panel; still with the original two sticky notes in place. I also stamped two images of the daisy heads  and some butterflies onto a piece of Smoothy card.

 

 Step Nine: I painted the imagery on the panel and the extra stamped bits using Fresco Finish paints in Snowflake, Dolly Mix, Amethyst, South Pacific, Zesty Zing, Pumpkin Soup and Pearl Glaze (for the butterfly wings).

 Step Ten: Heat set the panel. Remove the sticky notes and this time use them to mask off the stamped part of the panel. Take the S279 Night Sky stencil and sponge through Dolly Mix Fresco Finish to decorate the top and base areas of the panel. Heat set.

 Step Eleven: Paint a strip of Snowflake Fresco Finish along the base of the panel, heat set and then stamp the wording with Jet Black Archival ink. Add some doodled lines using a 0.3mm black multi-liner where the different parts of the panel meet each other and under the wording and then paint between these lines with Snowflake Fresco Finish.

Step Twelve: Add some shadowing around the stamped imagery using a Black Soot Distress Marker and lightly add some colour to the wording using Mustard Seed and Seedless Preserves Distress Markers. Take an opaque white pen and colour in the middles of the Dolly Mix stars.

 Step Thirteen: Adhere the panel to a same size card blank. Cut out and mount the daisy heads and butterflies to the panel and add some Stardust glitter glue for sparkle!
