Classes at The Craft Barn

A couple of weeks ago I took my first class at The Craft Barn in over two years!!  As most of you know I had to take a break from teaching due to my 'naughty back'!!  However I am now back and I am teaching again but only in a limited capacity.

My thanks to everyone who came on the class a couple of weeks ago - I hope you enjoyed it!!  You were certainly a lovely and lively bunch!!  This is the card that we made which had a lot of techniques to it but I think that they all mastered 'the challenge' admirably!!
I have just updated my 'classes/demos' page as I have two more classes coming up at The Craft Barn - one in a couple of weeks time and another in October and that will be all for the rest of this year.  So if anyone fancies joining me please visit my 'classes/demo' page where you will find out more about them :)

It's Christmas!!!...........

.................well ok not literally!  It's just my way of telling you that I thought I'd show you a Christmas card!  This is one of the cards that we made last time I was at The Glitter Pot using this cute Merry Bear stamp from the Laurence Collection by StampAvie along with some Penny Black Christmas Stamps - Starlit (the tree), Winter Whites and Greens (snowflakes and wording) and Snow Scroll.

The background was created by stamping the tree and snowflakes using Moonlight White Brilliance ink and the embossed snowflakes were done using the Crafts Too Snowflakes embossing folder.  All of which are available from The Glitter Pot.

No prizes for guessing that I coloured in my main image using my trusty Copics.  (Sorry can't tell you the colours I used this time as it isn't fair to those that paid to attend this class!)

For anyone that is interested in doing a Christmas based Copic class I am back again at The Glitter Pot on Saturday 13th November where we will be doing this sort of blended colouring in the morning using some cute Christmas stamps and in the afternoon I'll be teaching my new technique using Copics called Resist Watercolour.  (Look out for my Snowman project coming up in the December issue of Craft Stamper which shows this technique.)  Click here for more details on the classes.

Then on Saturday 20th November I am at The Craft Barn using Copic markers again along with the new Sarah Kay and Penny Johnson Christmas stamps. (These Craft Barn classes will be limited to a maximum of 8 people so that I will be able to devote more time to each person so you will need to book quite soon to avoid disappointment as these classes tend to be quite popular!) Click here for more details on the classes.

Lastly but certainly not least my thanks to everyone who booked on my classes this Saturday (just gone) at The Craft Barn - it was lovely to see you all and I am so pleased that you enjoyed the classes! Hope to see you again soon!

A New Look!

Good morning everyone.  I just had to pop on to tell you about the brand new look that The Craft Barn have now got over on their website and blog!  It is just SO colourful and I absolutely LOVE it.  The new design has been created by the mega talented Chris Dark from The Craft Barn's design team.  She is one VERY clever lady!!

They have also got a brand new 'I shop at The Craft Barn' logo too, as you can see!!  Isn't it great!!  Please do take this picture and add it to your blogs.

Talking of The Craft Barn I have added my October classes to My Event Diary in my sidebar now.  For those of you who saw me demonstrating at the weekend with the Gorjuss Girls I have a day of classes using these stamps on Saturday October 23rd. Click here for more details.

I also have a day of classes booked for The Glitter Pot on Saturday 9th October using some of the new releases by StampAvie and Copic markers. Click here for more details.

So if you fancy any of these you know what to do!!

Only One Week To Go........

Until this!

I don't know about you but I am already getting excited!!  I love demoing at these events as there is always such a buzz and this promises to be the best yet as there is an amazing line up of demonstrators.  For those of you who have no idea what I am talking about simply click here for more information.

However I've got to confess that I am beginning to panic ever so slightly as I am nowhere near prepared!  What with one thing and another I haven't been able to spend the time so far on my prep infact this is as far as I have got!!

Colouring in a few images!

So far each of these images are coloured using my trusty Copics but now I need to get colouring some with Distress Inks too!

I know that some people think that when colouring with Copics their images are too dark but do these look dark to you?  You can get some beautiful, pastel results using your Copic markers so if you'd like to stop by my table next weekend I'll show you how I do it!

By the way aren't these images fabulous?  I am so lucky to be able to play with these for the June Weekend.  They are of course designed by Elisabeth Bell for Belles 'n' Whistles which I'm delighted to say The Craft Barn are now stocking!  As well as demoing with some of these little cuties I'll also be taking a couple of classes at The Craft Barn on Saturday 26th June using two of these gorgeous images. In the morning class I'll be showing you how to get pastel results (like these) using your Copics and in the afternoon class we'll be watercolouring another image with Distress Inks, so if you fancy coming along and having a go you know what to do!

Well enough talking..........................I think I'd better get on with some work so that I've actually got some finished cards to show you next weekend!!  So no fun in the sun for me then!!

New Class Dates Added

Hi everyone.  Sorry that I haven't been around quite so much lately but it is chaos here at the moment!!  Anyway whilst it is quiet I thought I would quickly pop on and let you know that I have just added some new class dates at The Craft Barn to My Event Diary on my sidebar.

The classes will be based on using the new clear stamps by Belles 'n' Whistles and will be focusing on two different ways of colouring.  One of the classes will be using Copics to colour and the other Distress inkpads so if you fancy finding out more about them click here to head on over to The Craft Barn's website.

By the way some of you might be pleased to know that The Craft Barn have just added Paypal as a means of paying for your online purchases too.

Perhaps tomorrow I'll actually get a card loaded up for you....................................

Classes for March

Morning guys.  Yes!!  Today is the day!!!  No........................nothing to do with Valentines Day!!!  Today is SUNDAY which means.......................................it's Dancing On Ice day!!!  HURRAY!!  Ooooohhhhh!!  Can't wait!!  (Yes - don't worry - I know that I am very sad! Lol!)

Anyway what I did stop by to tell you is that I have just added some class dates for the month of March to My Event Diary on my sidebar.  On Saturday the 6th March I will be doing an all day class at The Glitter Pot showing how to make a pretty, floral concertina card which would make an ideal card for Mother's Day or a very pretty birthday card for a special person and on Saturday 20th March I am back at The Craft Barn taking classes with the 3C factor - Charismatic, Cute and coloured with Copics!!

Before the classes happen though I will be demoing at Stevenage on the 28th Feb for Stamp Addicts - I can hardly believe that this is only two weeks away now!  I have been working on some sample cards for this over this last week using some of the latest Denami stamps which as ever are fantastic.  If you are very good I may post up a few sneak peeks of some of these cards soon!

Meanwhile I hope you are all enjoying your weekend and are staying warm!!  It is bitterly cold here outside although the snow is beginning to melt away - we have just got a cold wind to replace the snow instead!  Still it is perfect card making weather as I have no yearnings to be out and about in this!!

Guess What's Arrived!!

Morning everyone.  Just look what turned up here yesterday afternoon!!  At last I have been able to see what the covers of my new DVD's look like and I must say that I think they look very pretty!  I have added each of them to my sidebar with details of how you can get hold of them.

In the next couple of days I will post up details on how to enter my Christmas Card Competition where the prize will be your choice of one of these DVD's so don't forget to check back!

I have added a new date to My Event Diary which is a day of classes at The Craft Barn on Saturday January 23rd 2010.  In the morning I'll be showing you how to create some beautiful backgrounds using my Fancy Flourish stamp sheet and in the afternoon I'll be taking you step-by-step on how to build up different arrangements using some of the different flowers and leaves elements from the Funky Flowers stamp sheet along with some basic masking.  So if you fancy joining me for either of these classes you know what to do!!

Meanwhile my last day of classes for this year will soon be approaching on Thursday 10th December 2009 at The Glitter Pot.  So if you fancy getting away from all the Christmas mayhem for a few hours it would be great to see you!

Talking of Glitter Pot classes here is a card we made from one of my last classes there using a Sarah Kay image along with some co-ordinating background papers which I embellished a little using a snowflake from the Hero Arts Winter's Butterfly clear stamp set.  The Sarah Kay image was coloured using Copic Ciaos and I will be showing you how to get the best from these pens in my classes in December.  The greeting was taken from a Popcorn Bear Christmas stamp set.

Classes at The Craft Barn

Good morning. Just wanted to let you all know that I will be taking a morning and afternoon class at The Craft Barn on Saturday 19th September just incase anyone is interested. This is my first time there for a few months!!

The weekend prior to that I will be at The Craft Barn's Extravaganza Weekend showing you some pretty Christmas cards using the Whiff Of Joy Herb snowman and some of the new Sarah Kay Christmas stamps so for my classes (the following Saturday) I will be showing you in detail how to make some beautiful cards using these stamps. I do hope that you can join me!

.........................................

By the way have any of you seen the debut stamp collection of Isa Norris - they are absolutely beautiful and they will be available at The Craft Barn in a few weeks time. Meanwhile to see Isa's designs click here to hop on over to her blog.

My First Sarah Kay Card

Good morning everyone. As promised here is a sneaky peek of one of the Sarah Kay cards we will be making next weekend made in my favourite colour of lilac. As you'll already know from my Oh My God post I am truly amazed at the quality of these clear stamps - the detail you get from each stamped image is remarkable.

Being that this is for a class I can't go into detail as to how it was made but I will tell you that all the backgrounds have been created by hand - not a backing paper in sight and the image has been coloured with Copic Ciaos which are fast becoming a firm favourite.

I will post up the other class cards next week.

Meanwhile if you check back here tomorrow I might let you in on a secret!!
