Spring Time

Morning everyone.  Well with all the fine weather we have been having recently I thought I would share a card with you that I made a little while ago using spring like colours of purple and lime which puts me in mind of crocuses!  Talking of which, when I was out and about the other day I saw a garden full of both purple and yellow crocuses and it looked absolutely beautiful - such a cheery sight!

Anyway enough about flowers and onto the card!  This is a card that I made last year for my Colouring Techniques DVD using both Copics and Copic Spicas to colour my main image with.  Unfortunately the scanned in picture didn't pick up the sparkle of the Spicas so you'll just have to trust me that she does sparkle!  By the way did you know that the Spicas now come in even more colours?  Obviously when I found this out I just had to have them all!  The Craft Barn are currently selling all the new colours individually - click here to go and check them out!

My main image for the card is one of the Ketto stamps by Stamping Bella called Charlotte.  I just love these Ketto stamps and am currently working on some more cards with some of the other Ketto designs so when they are finished I'll post them up.  They may not be the biggest stamps in the world but what they lack in size they sure make up for in funkiness. (If there is such a word!) You can get all your Stamping Bella stamps online from The Craft Barn and they have a great selection to choose from. Click here to go and check them out.

The wording is a Stamps By Judith stamp which I got from Stamp Addicts and the paper was so long ago that I can't be absolutely sure whose it is!  I think that it was a Daisy Bucket one but I could be wrong!

Lemon and Lime

Morning everyone. A very quick post today just to show you this card that I did for the Newbury show using those Stamps By Judith. Image was coloured using Polycolor pencils and Zest It blending solution and the background papers are by Daisy Bucket.

Poppies

Morning guys. I was at The Glitter Pot yesterday all day so just didn't get chance to post anything up yesterday! My thanks to everyone who came yesterday - I hope that you enjoyed it. The afternoon class was certainly very different for me because as everyone who knows me, I don't often do quick and simple cards which was what we did in the afternoon. (I'll post up the cards we made next week some time.)

Anyway here is another of those cards from Newbury using the Fine Poppy and butterfly stamps - this one I do like!! I love poppies in real life but it grieves me that they only seem to last for one or two days at most!! Here they were coloured using those Polycolor pencils and Zest It blending solution. As you can see I used that Mince Flourish again to decorate around the edges of the card and those green papers are by Daisy Bucket.

All products are available from Stamp Addicts. However you won't find the wording stamp, the poppy stamp or the butterfly stamp on their website as these are all by Stamps By Judith and unfortunately they are not allowed to display these stamps on their website even though they have got them on their shelves! So if you see anything you like by Stamps By Judith just give Stamp Addicts a ring on 01234 855833.

Stamp Addicts Demo Day - Card 6

As promised here is another of those cards that I made using the Stamps By Judith range for when I was up at Stamp Addicts for their Demo Day.

I know that I have said before how much I like these stamps. I love flowery stamps anyway but these appeal to me so much because you can make different arrangements so easily. I only used the flower pot stamps this time around to stamp them into but of course you can put them into many other receptacles too such as buckets, jars, vases, watering cans etc... Or of course they can just be stamped coming straight out of the ground.

I think that (grudgingly!!) I must agree with Sarah (from Stamp Addicts) that it did me good not having pink and lilac pencils in the tin of Polycolor pencils that she sent me as it did make me use other colours for a change which made me think about different colour schemes both at the time and since.

The background paper that you see on the left of the card is by Daisy Bucket. I just jazzed it up a bit by stamping a couple of stamps onto it to make it tie in more with the main image.

As already mentioned the image was coloured with Polycolor pencils combined with paper stumps and Zest-It blending solution. Prior to this all the flowers and pots were stamped with Graphite Black Brilliance as I have found that StazOn tends to bleed slightly with both the wax from the crayons and the solution whereas Brilliance doesn't providing it has been heat set.

Stamps used:

Stamps By Judith
F-239 Small Single Daisy
F-36 Medium Flowerpot
C-55 Small Flowerpot
AAA-140 Sprig-let
AAA-04 Dots
AAA-141 Grass Tuft
AAA-195 Open Daisy
F-214 Birthday Wishes

Denami
M65 Large Dot Swirls

Judikins
2972G Mince Flourish

All the stamps and materials used on the card are available from Stamp Addicts but don't forget that they can't show the Stamps By Judith images on their website so you will need to give them a ring to order any. (Their contact details can be found on their website.)

Good morning. I know that some of you are eagerly awaiting for me to start showing the cards that I made for last weekend but I have still yet to find the time to edit them. Hopefully though in a couple of days I will begin showing them to you.

Meanwhile here is one of the more simple cards that I did for Stamp Addicts's Demo Day using the Stamps by Judith range and those Polycolor pencils along with the Zest-It blending solution. The background paper is by Daisy Bucket.

The stamps used were -

Stamps By Judith
F-239 Small Single Daisy
F-36 Medium Flowerpot
AAA-140 Sprig-let
AAA-141 Grass Tuft
AAA-04 Dots
D-104 Just For You

Judikins
2972G Mince Flourish

All of course sold by Stamp Addicts.

By the way I must just tell you that Jeanette who won my blog candy very kindly left me a link to show me a card she had made with the Funky Flowers stamp sheet. Thanks very much Jeanette. If any of you would like to take a look too click here.

Stamp Addicts Demo Day Card 2

Morning Guys. Here is another card using that same Large Design Square but this time with different flowers stamped into it. The technique used for this card is exactly the same as the one I posted yesterday and the flowers were coloured using the Polycolor pencils and Zest-It blending solution.

The green background paper is by Daisy Bucket and I can't remember who the blue one is by but they are both available from Stamp Addicts. You'll notice that I stamped some imagery onto these papers using either the Dotty Swirl by Denami or the Mince Flourish by Judikins. The Dotty Swirl was stamped with Brilliance Starlite Black which is a very soft black with a shimmer to it and the flourish was stamped with Brilliance Graphite Black.

Stamps used :

Stamps By Judith
F-239 Small Single Daisy
AAA-04 Dots
H-218-HK Large Design Square

Judikins - 2972G Mince Flourish

Denami - M65 Large Dot Swirls

All stamps and materials can be bought from Stamp Addicts. (The Stamps By Judith stamps will not feature on their online shopping as they are not allowed to upload the images but they are all in stock - you will find both their email and telephone details on their website.)

Stamp Addicts Demo Day Card 1

So finally here is one of the cards from last Saturday. I stamped the large design square 3 times onto white card then stamped it again onto scrap paper. Using a craft knife I cut out the square following the inside line to create a reverse mask - imagine a square aperture in a piece of paper. This was then placed over each stamped square in turn so that I could stamp the flowers within the squares. As I knew I would be colouring the flowers with the Polycolor pencils and Zest It blending solution combined with paper/blending stumps, I did all my stamping with Graphite Black Brilliance as I have found that StazOn tends to bleed slightly when you add the blending solution. If you click on the image you should be able to see that I also very lightly stamped some green dots into the squares as well just to take away the starkness of the background. I stamped the background papers (Daisy Bucket) with a Judikins flourish stamp using the Graphite Black Brilliance inkpad too.

Stamps used :

Stamps By Judith
F-189 Tall Aster
AAA-04 Dots
H-218-HK Large Design Square

Judikins - 2972G Mince Flourish

All stamps and materials can be bought from Stamp Addicts. (The Stamps By Judith stamps will not feature on their online shopping as they are not allowed to upload the images but they are all in stock - you will find both their email and telephone details on their website.)

And Some More Penny Black!

As you will have probably gathered by now I ended up doing quite a few cards for that Glitter Pot demo day as here is yet another one from that weekend. The flowers were stamped onto shrink plastic, coloured with the Coloursoft pencils and shrunk down. The stripey paper is by Daisy Bucket. More my normal type of colour scheme this time too!

So tired!!

Morning everyone - well it is just about still morning as I begin typing this! I am SO tired this morning that it is taking me forever to do things. Yesterday's classes were really quite hectic as they were both full as well as being fairly challenging. I think that everyone really liked the technique that we covered in the afternoon class using the clear shrink plastic. (I'll post that card up tomorrow for you to see.)

Meanwhile here is the second smaller card from the morning class - no-one actually got to make this card although several people did make a start on it and went away with the components to finish it at home. It is only 10x10cm once folded but makes a really sweet little card to give to someone. The flowers and background stamp are by Penny Black and the 'dreams' wording is from the Flutterfly Friends clear stamp set by Stampendous. The green paper is by My Minds Eye and the stripey paper is by Daisy Bucket all of which can be purchased from The Glitter Pot.

Shrink Plastic Class

Tomorrow I am at The Glitter Pot all day teaching classes on shrink plastic which is definitely one of my favourite mediums to work with. When I first started using shrink plastic (many years ago!!) I couldn't get on with it at all. It wasn't until I tried using a different heat gun (the white one that looks like a hairdryer) that it all came together for me and I haven't looked back since. I still don't get on very well using the long heat guns with the plastic as I find that they are too fierce.

Anyway I am digressing! The card I've posted up today is one that we will be making in the morning using Penny Black flowers and that Penny Black background stamp (that I keep using on all my cards). The little shrunken bees in the punched out flowers are from the Flutterfly Friends stamp set by Stampendous. The stripey background paper is by Daisy Bucket and the leaves are by My Minds Eye. All of these things are available from The Glitter Pot.

Flutterfly Friends

Oh dear!! I had meant to post much earlier than this but I am still trying to play catch up!

This card is one of my Glitter Pot demo ones using clear shrink plastic behind each of the butterflies. The butterflies and bees are off of the same clear stamp sheet by Stampendous called Flutterfly Friends and the swirly background stamp is by Penny Black. Background papers and stamps are all available from The Glitter Pot.

Gotta go as have SO much to do...............

The Last Of The Girls

This card was made using the Peace Girl stamp sheet by Judikins along with pretty background papers that I bought from The Glitter Pot. Both the loud flowery paper and the black and white strips of paper are by Daisy Bucket.

The black and white print out shows you all the stamps that you get on this particular stamp sheet.

Tunes Girl 2

Oops! I had fully intended to post yesterday but I was eager to get cracking on catching up with stuff yesterday and then I just never made it back to my computer! Thankfully I can now hold stamps and inkpads and although I had to press the bigger stamps with my elbow, instead of my hand, at least I was able to get on! So before I run away from my computer this morning and attempt another busy day of catching up I thought I would post up the second Tunes Girl card.

So here it is. As you can see I used some of the same background paper as for the other card but this time combined it with a brown spotty paper by My Minds Eye which I had purchased from The Glitter Pot. All the stamps used are by Judikins including the flourish in the top left corner which of course are from Stamp Addicts. The layered circles were done with my Nestabilities dies.

Back To The Girls

Good morning to you all. I must just thank Brenda and Lisa for your kind comments regarding my poorly hand - they were very much appreciated. It seems that something is working although I don't know if it is the pills, the ice or the rest so I will keep all three up today and hope for great things tomorrow. At least today I can actually pick up light things! Yippee!! (Thanks for the info Lisa on the Rosehip - I'll certainly make a note of that.)

As you can see from todays card we are back with the new girl stamp sheets from Stamp Addicts. The flourish you can see is by Judikins and is a firm favourite of mine - this too is of course available from Stamp Addicts. All the other stamps used were from the Tunes Girl stamp sheet. The stripey background paper is by Daisy Bucket and the dotty black background paper is by Pebbles Inc - both from The Glitter Pot. The images were stamped with Stone Grey StazOn and watercoloured with Zig Brushables.

I've uploaded a print out of the stamp sheet as well so you can see exactly what you get.

Shopaholic Girl 2

Good morning. Here is the 2nd of the Shopaholic Girl cards. As you can see this one isn't quite as busy as yesterdays card! The stamps that you can see on the purple panel are still by Judikins and so are from Stamp Addicts. I think I am right in saying that the black and white papers are by Daisy Bucket and these I purchased from The Glitter Pot. The flowers were punched out from black card and decorated with a white opaque gel pen and gemstones added to the centres.

I hope you all enjoy your Easter weekend. Unfortunately being that I work from home and that I have deadlines fast approaching I will be having to work over the Easter break. (Whilst munching chocolate though of course!!)

Shopaholic Girl

Out of all the new girl stamp sheets that Stamp Addicts have just brought out I have got to say that this one has got to be my favourite as I can definitely relate!!

I think that I threw just about everything at this card! I used my Nestablities along with some Core-dinations cardstock which I embossed with the swirl Cuttlebug folder and then sanded. (All from The Craft Barn.) The background papers I purchased from The Glitter Pot and they are by Daisy Bucket. I punched out some flowers from Bazzill card and added some Prima Petite flowers too along with gemstones for the centres. Lastly the girl was stamped in Stone Grey StazOn and watercoloured with Zig Brushables.

It's a very 'busy' card but I hope you like it nonetheless!

Here's the print out of the rest of the stamps on this sheet for you to see too.

A Peek At Some New Stamps

Hi Everyone. For the last couple of days I have frantically been trying to get together a few cards with some new stamp sheets that Stamp Addicts sent to me. Because of other commitments I only had 2 days in which to do this so I'm afraid that I had to resort to using my stash of background papers!!

Stamp Addicts will be doing a live show this coming Monday on Ideal World at 11am and will be showcasing these new stamp sheets on there so watch out for it.

Meanwhile here is one of the cards that I made using one of these un-mounted stamp sheets by Judikins. I'm afraid that in my rush to do the cards I have no idea whose the background is but I do know that I bought it at The Glitter Pot and it is double-sided! This was also an ideal time to use my Nestabilities and my Prima Petite flowers that I bought a little while ago from The Craft Barn.

The images and wording were stamped with Stone Grey StazOn and then watercoloured with Zig Brushables.

I've also uploaded a print out of the actual stamp sheet too so that you can see the other images on there. Don't forget to catch the show on Monday to see what the girls make!
Meanwhile over the next few days I'll post up some more of the cards that I've made with these new stamps.
