The Glitter Pot Spring Spectacular

Helloooooooooooo!!!  So this weekend it is The Glitter Pot's Spring Demo Weekend with lots of lovely demonstrators. Once again I am honoured to be part of this fabulous event and will be there on both days showing how you can take your stencilling to the next level using Imagination Crafts wonderful Sparkle Gel along with stencils, distress inkpads, copics and mica powders.
These are the cards that I will have on display showcasing this technique.

I'm really looking forward to be able to share this brand new technique which I developed a few months ago so I really hope that you will be able to stop by my table.

Also on Saturday 21st June I have an all day class at The Glitter Pot where I'll be teaching how to make one of these cards and showing you all the techniques involved.

Best Friend

Hi everyone.  I'm afraid I am still struggling, so hence me not posting very regularly at the moment.  Luckily I do still have some cards to show you  that I made last year and just haven't yet posted up, so here is one of those cards!

I originally made this for a demo at The Glitter Pot using some very pretty double sided background paper and the Kira With Kitten stamp by Wild Rose Studio.  (I'm afraid that it has been so long that I can't remember whose paper this is but it did come from The Glitter Pot!)  The best friend wording came from my Funky Flourishes stamp sheet.

I stamped Kira with black Memento ink and coloured her using Copic markers - can't remember the colours!!

Here's a closer look at the colouring for you.

All materials used on this card came from The Glitter Pot and talking of this fabulous shop reminds me to tell you that in just over a months time they will be hosting their Spring Spectacular weekend on May 28th and 29th.  You can find out more about it here.

Then the weekend after that it is The Craft Barn's June Extravaganza which is always a fantastic weekend with loads of demonstrators.  Click here to see the line up and find out all about it!!  With both of these fantastic events looming I'm going to start saving now!!

Birthday Wishes Ted

Morning guys. I'm afraid that I am not getting much time to post at the moment as am busy beavering away for this weekend trying to get lots of card samples done to provide those of you who can make it to The Craft Barn's June Extravaganza with inspiration!!  So please excuse me for neglecting my blog a little!

Today's card is one I made for The Glitter Pot's Spring Spectacular weekend using this lovely teddy stamp by Penny Black called Joie De Vivre - he really looks in the birthday mood doesn't he?

Those gorgeous background papers are by Basic Grey and are from the Kioshi range.  I think this is such a beautiful range of papers - there isn't one paper from this series that I don't like!  The wording is from my Fancy Flourishes stamp sheet.  There are lots of words on this sheet and 3 different fonts allowing you to mix and match the styles which I really like to do!

Here's a closer look at the teddy panel for you.  As you can probably guess he was coloured using Copics.  For those of you who would like to know my bear colours are E37, E35, E31 and E30.  I tend to use these colours a lot for my bears and just vary how much or how little I use of each colour in order to vary the look of them.  The subtle background is done using lighter shades of Copics along with a blender pen and I will be doing a class using this technique at The Glitter Pot in July.  Still finalising details for this but once it is ready to book I'll let you know!

To add that subtle shimmer to some of the image I used that Clear Spica pen over the top.  I managed to get the lighting right so that you can see the gorgeous shimmer that this pen gives here on the balloons and as you see it doesn't detract from the original colouring in any way.  Just LOVE this pen!  The Spicas also come in some lovely colours too but I definitely use the Clear one the most.

Then on other parts of the image I used some Diamond glitter glue which gives more of a sparkle.  I really like to layer my shimmer and glitter in this way as it gives more dimension to the image when it catches the light.

Well must get back to making those card samples!

Are You Proud Of Me?

So it seems as if you were all expecting me to have come home laden with stuff from The Glitter Pot!  Well although there was a lot of temptation and I truly could have gone mad I was infact VERY restrained!!  This is that clear stamp set that I was using as part of my demo and I couldn't leave without purchasing it as I had such fun with this.  There are so many different pictures that you can create with this stamp set and over the next couple of weeks I'll show you the cards that I made with it. (So Sharon and Tracy you weren't alone with having to purchase it - I HAD to have it too!!)

For anyone that has ever been to The Glitter Pot you will know that it is crammed full of stuff so all in all I feel that I did really well just walking away with the above stamp set and these punches!  As I think we already know by now I love MS punches and have had my eye on these two for a while now.  I wasn't expecting to get the Sunflower punch though and that is Joanne Gelnar's fault!  She was sat next to me demonstrating how to make these wonderful flower creations using punches and I've decided that I have just got to have a go at this as they would make wonderful embellishments to your cards.  She is a very talented lady.  Click here to go visit her blog and you'll see what I mean!

I have a feeling though that for anyone who visited The Glitter Pot last weekend they probably weren't as restrained as me as the shelves are just crammed full of wonderful things.  Infact I purposely didn't go into the room that houses the papers and Prima flowers otherwise I would have come home with a bulging bag!!

Poor Clare Curd (from Do Crafts) wasn't as good as me though!!  After demoing next to me (on my other side) she went and bought all of the Copic Ciaos and some of the Sketch markers too!  I hope you enjoy them Clare!

So you see............................I can be good sometimes..............................well sort of!! Lol!!

Some Sneak Peeks

Well finally I have photographed the sample cards that I've made for this weekend so here are some sneaky peeks of what I will be demoing on Saturday and Sunday.  This first stamp is by Penny Black and is called Sunny Days.

These next 2 pictures are both from a Penny Black clear stamp set called Make A Wish and this is now a firm favourite of mine!  There are 2 teddy stamps in this set and several different mice stamps which all interact with one another so well!!  I had such fun making several different cards with this stamp set alone as you can have them doing so many different things!  In this sneaky peek I have used 3 separate stamps to make this picture.

And for this one I used another 2 different stamps.  Both the mice and the bears are smaller than the normal wood mounted ones and this means that they are just the cutest images!!  Because of how cute and versatile these images are I have already decided this weekend that I will be buying this stamp set as I have loved using it so much!!  Also because the stamp set's clear it allowed me to see exactly where I was stamping each of the images which meant I was able to build up my pictures with ease.

All of the images were coloured with Copics and if you are able to make it to The Glitter Pot's Spring Spectacular Weekend (this weekend) then I'll be able to show you first hand how I use these marvellous markers.  There will be 8 demonstrators on hand to show you lots of tips and techniques using a variety of different products plus The Glitter Pot will have a refreshment stall with the proceeds being donated to a local hospice so I hope to see you there!!

My Stamp Addicts Spree!!!

Well I did promise to show you the photos from my spending spree at Stamp Addicts didn't I?  Well first up are these gorgeous papers from Best Creations.  The photo doesn't really do these papers justice as each of them have embossed, raised and sparkly designs on them.  Suffice it to say that I HAD to have several sheets of each of these as I know that I will want to use them on everything!!

Even the reverse side of these papers are fabulous too as you can see!

Next up are 3 of the new StazOn inkpads,  some Distress inks and mini misters.  There are actually 4 new colours of the metallic StazOn - the one that I didn't get (this time) was Copper as I thought I'd try out Silver, Gold and Platinum first as I think I will use these colours more than the Copper.  As you can see from the packaging they come with a refill ink as well as the pad and although I haven't opened them up yet I am guessing that they are like the Opaque StazOn range where you have an uninked pad and apply the ink yourself.  As you can see I bought just one or two of the Distress Inks!!  I already have all of the new colours in both pads and inks but didn't have some of the older colours in the actual inks.  Some of my pads are getting a little dry now (as I often use my own for classes)plus I thought it would be nice to make some quick backgrounds with the ink by putting a few drops into a spray bottle and adding water - hence the mini misters!!  (So Keryn - does this count as TH stuff or not?!!)

Now at this point I did think that I was done with my spending but then I happened across the ribbon display!!  And somehow..............all of these fell into my basket!!  Really not too sure how this happened!!

***********

Now as I think some of you know, this weekend I am demoing at The Glitter Pot so I am hoping that I can be a bit more restrained!!  What do you think guys?  Am I fighting a losing battle?  Talking of The Glitter Pot I guess I ought to stop waffling and get back to work as I'm still trying to get my sample cards done!  I know that I did sort of mention a while back that I might post a sneaky peek of what I am demoing but that is a bit hard when I haven't done them yet!!!

Oh, just before I go........................thought I'd let you know that unfortunately all your good wishes didn't work as I wasn't picked for the WOJ Guest DT.  Oh well.............I'll just have to try again next time!!!

Not everyone will be there on both days so hop on over to The Glitter Pot's website to find out more!

Hopefully I will see you there..............

PS. I may even post up a sneaky peek beforehand to give you a clue as to what I'll be demonstrating!

Busy, Busy, Busy!

Morning everyone! I am really busy today with trying to get those stamp sheets finished so that I can demo with them at The Craft Barn's June Weekend. Plus I am trying to prepare for The Glitter Pots Spring Spectacular weekend which is next weekend so I don't have time to post up any cards today. I'll try to do better tomorrow! Wish me luck with those stamp sheets!
